Humans as good as Creepers?

All of us, with the excessive time in hand during LockDown, have started noticing the smallest of changes which include the beauty of nature, be it the evening colors, the birds chirping, or the simplicity of the moon. One such day I walked my regular route back home and I noticed this majestic tree having the growth of Creepers all around it, covering its trunk. Later in the night when I gave it a thought it felt aren’t we all Creepers to someone else?

Creepers on a plant ( Source — thespruce.com)

Creeper or a Climber, a plant that grows on the host plant basically derives the nutrition to survive from the host and just like that we derive social validation, attention, energies from the innermost circle of people for us. We are all surviving on the borrowed energies of our loved ones and like nutrition, we hope our host will provide us with all the love, care, and energy to survive in this reality.

Sometimes while seeking all this attention and love we become the Energy Vampire to the people closest to us as we are always greedy for more be it love, attention, care, money. We want it all without exceptions.

As Toxic as this sounds we are toxic to the closest of our people. Basically, a Creeper needs a host to survive and rarely are they able to change the host to survive and this type of relationship can only survive when both derive some benefits out of it else no one Wins. And that’s when we are so selfish that we try to take away every bit from our host and it leads to eventually the host’s non-existence.

The beauty of this relationship is, it’s not forced and no one is suffering and the balance is maintained. And balance is never a scale of 50–50 but rather on an individual to individual level because there is always someone giving more and other person receiving more. No relationship is that idealistic to 50–50 and thus the balance is the art that works in 2 people’s favor.

For those who are wondering what happens to the host are they always the giver, because that way they are always losing in the darkness of the Creeper. I have two alternative thoughts on that either they are also having some wonderful foundation and/or are Creeper to some other host or just like the host they are better than the Creepers in handling their feelings or even better maybe they accept how messed up they are and try to be a better version of themselves every day.

Though my only wish for everyone reading this is I hope we all find a beautiful group of the host who can keep us afloat in this wild jungle.
